Dispatch #2: Earthquakes

Episode 2 of Dispatch: Earthquakes from ‘The Understory’, featuring perspectives and reflections from our #MeWeIntl #MeWeSyria communities who’ve survived the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria

EP2: ‘Where there is togetherness, there is hope…’ #MeWeSyria, Turkey/Syria

What began with a death toll of 200 has surpassed over 50,000 lives lost. It has been more than 2 weeks now since two massive earthquakes split the earth in Southern Turkey and NW Syria, re-traumatizing an already displaced and fragmented people and region. In this second installment of DISPATCH, #MeWeIntl founder and The Understory host Mohsin Mohi Ud Din continues to share audio recordings from friends and #MeWeSyria community members who’ve survived both the war in Syria and now these devastating earthquakes. With each passing day, the stories of loss slowly fade away from media and global attention. But also fading from the narrative are the daily stories of resilience and survival. But not here. Not now. Will you listen?
